Jake’s Story
Jake’s healing place was started in honor of our grandson Jake. He was born with a rare genetic disorder called KCNQ2 Epileptic Encephalopathy. He was one of the youngest children to go into a hyperbaric chamber to help control his seizures. At one month, despite being on epileptic medication, he was still seizing 20 to 30 times a day, so his parents took a chance with hyperbaric therapy and it worked! His seizures declined in two months and his seizures have now subsided to only when he is ill.
Thankfully Jake’s seizures have subsided, but he still suffers from severe developmental delay. He’s unable to talk or sit unsupported, he requires total care putting him in the position to where he now needs medical equipment that is not always covered by insurance. We saw that many children were also in very similar situations as Jake. We needed to make hyperbaric therapy available for them and assist with medical equipment if insurance didn’t cover.

Uses for Hyperbarics
HBOT is used as an alternative health therapy. But it is important to note that there are 14 recognized medical conditions by Underseas Medicine and they are as follows:

We help subsidize medical equipment costs as well as hyperbaric therapy cost. This would be for those with no insurance, insurance denials and when insurance will only pay a portion
